Notes from the May, 2006
Meeting
June 10th was the Catoctin Orchid Society's
annual picnic which was held at Mim and Leo Reisberg's house. We
had a lovely sunny day for it and lots of good food. After lunch
we had a short meeting for the election of officers and a discussion on
how to attract new members. As established by our Bylaws two of
the four leadership positions are voted on at this meeting. This
year it was the Vice-President and the Secretary. Sue Gilbride
will be the new Vice-President and Janice Koci the new Secretary for a
two year term. We also voted to increase our membership dues to
$15.00 for a single membership and $20.00 for a family membership.
The last part of the meeting was our display
of blooming orchids. We had a hard time choosing just one plant
but Mim's Dendrobium pulchellum took
the honors.
